IS THE TEST SENSIBLE? DEVELOPING A CRITICAL READING TEST FOR INDONESIAN EFL LEARNERS

This study aims at developing a critical reading test for Indonesian EFL students. (R & D) project is intended to assess students' progress and supposed offer accurate trustworthy results. The subjects were twenty students from the English Language Literature Department Brawijaya University who took part in try out stage. items' difficulty indices ranged 0.26 0.89. reliability coefficient KR-20 was determined be 0.95, indicating that this multiple-choice comprehension valid reliable. Despite of fact Critical Reading declared reliable, students’ score taking during less satisfactory. might caused by limited number or problems dealing with teaching learning process classroom causing inability do well. Future researchers are suggested address issue either involving more participants get reasons underlying lack ability doing test.
